I've bought two of these desks - one to replace a ridiculously heavy old desk my wife found at Goodwill that was never meant to be functional in anywhere but a stuffy office and another glass desk that broke recently. I appreciate both how easy this desk is to put together, yet how sturdy and safe it feels. It has its share of issues and I'll get into that in a second, but overall, I would recommend this desk for anyone looking for something strong, yet flexible.Putting It Together: Could NOT be any easier. Your desk arrives in a big box and it's heavy so you might need help getting it where you want. I have a hand dolly so I put it on there, took it around the house to the basement, and then to the room it was going into. Once you cut into the box, you'll have two pieces and a little hardware. My desk came with an extra screw or two that didn't actually go to the desk so...uh...thanks? Everything with the two separate pieces are attached so you just need to extend the legs, put the big piece in place, and then attach the smaller piece to the big piece using the bolts and allen wrench you were provided. Pat yourself on the back cause you just put together a desk. The Pros: Currently, I have two monitors, a pair of speakers, a tower desktop, a bobblehead, and mouse and keyboard...all on the big piece. You can, of course, place your computer elsewhere and you take up much less room if you use a laptop (which we do upstairs). The smaller piece is empty and allows me a place to write, maybe have a bite to eat, or whatever. Upstairs, where we have our laptops, we can clear off the big side in seconds to do arts and crafts with the girls who can pull up a chair on the other side of the desk. This flexibility is a major plus. Speaking of which, one of the main reasons I decided to buy a second one to replace the glass desk that finally shattered was that we're planning to move our older two girls downstairs and move my office upstairs. In no time, I can break this sucker down and move it without the typical annoyances that come with such an endeavor. Finally, the clear space underneath allows for more storage options (currently have a small endtable for things like game controllers and so forth along with my subwoofer). Upstairs, we typically keep our shredder and small file cabinet underneath it.Negatives: The edges aren't comfortable. They can dig into your arms as you type - as they are now. So, modifications are needed. Unfortunately, because of a bar maybe an inch from the edge, utilizing a clip-on keyboard tray is going to take a lot of searching and measuring because the first one I tried would not fit. And it shouldn't be a negative, but as you can see from the pictures, this is as bare bones as it gets. No clips for your headphones or a cup holder or anything like that. That said, these things can be added to the desk with ease as long as you can avoid the long bars that get in the way of things like a keyboard tray. Both times it was shipped to me, I did have a few nicks. Nothing too worrisome and really, I've come to accept a few scars with big shipments provided it doesn't take away from the object I ordered.Summing Up: Overall, I give this four stars, but only because five stars implies perfection to me. I fully recommend the desk despite the few warts I mentioned. Its durability is solid, the flexibility allows you options, and it fits a number of jobs.I was looking for a simple desk for my work at home setup to be used in the loft. After getting the package the main desk simply folded out and went up. The L portion was attached in just a few minutes and the desk was in place. It's sturdy, doesn't shake excessively, has a nice hard plasticky surface that has a pebbled texture but its still surprisingly easy to clean. The enameled steel is also very easy to clean and I haven't had any issues with obscene and sharp protrusions from underneath. It's large enough for two laptops and two monitors and a collection of other desktop essentials. I'm considering another for the garage man cave and one more for the guest bedroom. I like the idea of being able to fold it up for when I move or if I just need to temporarily clear up some space. I'm especially surprised considering the price; for what I got out of it, I could have easily paid more. So far it's been the big winner as far as home purchases as of late and I've gotten compliments from visitors about my office space. +1000 and would definitely buy this one again! This desk is very study, but easily breaks down and fits in a car. I bought this for my college student who was moving into an apartment. Perfect!I don’t know how i didn't buy this first. Its perfect! Easy set up. Great size. East to take down to move. Perfect.I love this desk! It was very simple to set up and is very well made. I purchased it after moving apartments because my last desk was made of particle board and didn’t survive the move. I will be moving again in a year so I didn’t want to relive the struggle of moving a desk only to have it die, but also didn’t want to settle for a regular plastic folding table. This desk is very sleek and clean and I’m not worried about having to move it. I would recommend it for anyone who knows they will be moving with any frequency and doesn’t want to risk particle board. This is worth the extra chunk of money!Took less than 10 minutes to open box and assemble. Just 2 screws. Sturdy and I love that I can use just the large table or store it away if needed. This is my fourth "Need" desk. They've all been very sturdy, simple to set up, long-lasting, and attractive.I really like this desk. Super easy to assemble. I've taken it apart a few times to move it around. No problems.
