Many steps to assemble but not to hard. Time consumingThis desk is a 9-10 in ease of construction, you have to look at the details on the paper because there are small differences in the legs. It’s pretty heavy, so build it close to where you want to place it. I would recommend using AR tool to check fitment, it’s bigger than it looks. It’s worth the purchase! This desk will do for now but I think I paid more this piece of garbage than I did my old one. This desk includes pieces of cheap metal, horrible packaging, unaligned screw holes, missing screw holes, and the wooden pieces are only the color you pick on top but not on the underneath. My old desk was perfectly fine but I sold it because I needed a little more top space. I put this desk together by forcing pieces together and leaving out screw since the holes were never made for them. Keep looking for that desk because this one is not it.I ordered this desk for work-from-home. It arrived in new condition as expected, requires assembly.Assembly: desk was easy to assemble, straightforward instructions. Look out for symmetry on how your side pieces are rotated to make sure that everything comes together at the end -- there is a small difference in the internal pieces that allows for the cross-board to be attached. A little bit of weirdness in making sure that the shelving bars are aligned. Adjustable feet allow you to try to make the desk level.Functionality:The size (as advertised) is good for my laptop + drawing tablet + mousepad and still plenty of space for papers and textbooks. I am not worried about the desk breaking or shifting under weight as it seems sturdy enough for everything I need to do.-- The desk surface itself has a fake "wood grain" texture which is entirely manufactured. Unfortunately, if you're writing on a single sheet of paper, you can feel that texture through the paper.Side shelves' width is decent for setting papers down flat if desired, or for other assorted odds-and-ends, and the height is perfect for most of my textbooks and binders.-- However, it would be better if the thin "wire" pieces on the sides were a little bit higher so that you could try to stand things up vertically without other support. If I want to stand a binder vertically on the shelves, I need to do it at the front or back edge so that it can lean against the desk frame.Style: dark brown surfaces with fake wood grain appearance, black matte frame. A couple downsides:-- The shelving support/connector bars have open ends that do not connect smoothly to the rest of the frame. So there are a few places where you have weird edges that do not sit flush with the neighboring surfaces.-- The bolts that hold the pieces together are silver, not black. So the heads of the bolts stand out both physically and visually from the black frame, which seems a little tacky.Serves its purpose. This desk is awesome! Arrived 3 days early (thanks Amazon Prime!). It wasn't too hard to assemble - took about 1.5 hours to assemble by myself. I did need a second person to help place the top of the desk onto the frame, as it was too large for me to lift myself. The assembly process is labor intensive - not hard, but you need to put some elbow grease into it. The desk looks beautiful and is very sturdy. I am very pleased with my purchase - this is a great desk for a home office. Note that the box was pretty messed up when I got it, but the desk itself was not damaged at all. When you open the box there are 3 pieces of wood that are there to help package - they may be a different color than the color of your desk, but don't worry as they are just there for packaging purposes! Overall - great value for your money, highly recommend!Seems to be sturdy. Not too bad to put together only one screw wouldn't fit. The hole was slightly off. It was the very last one but doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm hoping it last several years to come. This desk is my dream desk, I have been looking for something like this desk for a while. I think the desk is absolutely beautiful, it isn't too expensive for the quality you get, and is quite sturdy, it does shake quite easily but that isn't that big of a deal. It has ALL of space, I got the 55", it is just perfect and the color matches my bedroom's color.HOWEVER, PAY ATTENTION: DO NOT screw the screws in too tight, they will go all the way through the wood!! I wasn't going to use one of the shelves to begin with, but we accidently ruined one of the shelves by screwing in the screws too much. DO NOT do this, screw until it feels secure. This is why this desk does not get 5 stars. This can happen to any of the wood print on the desk so be careful with ALL assembly involving the wood print. Also, in the box, it comes with broken wood, do not worry about that, that's just for protection. The desk is good but not a fan of the finishing. There are scratches and dents throughout. Otherwise it’s fine
